Using the existing ship’s deck, SPS Overlay provides a cost-effective means of reinstating and/or strengthening vehicle decks, ramps and accommodation decks. Car and truck decks can be simultaneously strengthened enabling vessels to accommodate heavier vehicles with higher wheel loads.

SPS Overlay repair is a non-intrusive repair solution and parallel repair work can continue in all adjacent areas. There is no need to remove or disconnect underdeck services such as pipes, electricity conduits or insulation and does not affect cabins or public spaces.

The process is up to four times faster than conventional “crop and replace” and results in substantial labour savings. SPS Overlay enables ship owners to undertake significant steel renewal or structural life extension within the timeframe of a routine survey docking.
