SPS Overlay is a fast and effective means of reinstating and strengthening vessels, offshore units and port infrastructure. It is a permanent, classification society approved, structural repair and strengthening solution. SPS Overlay is equally suited for both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
SPS Overlay is proven to be up to four times faster than conventional “crop and replace”. One repair team can typically reinstate 200m sq of deck per day and multiple application teams can speed the process still further.
Without the need to crop out the existing plate, SPS Overlay eliminates the need to remove attached insulation and services and minimizes the chance of project overruns.
Repairs can be performed globally at a shipyard, in drydock or along side, but special working practices have been developed for in-situ repairs, such as the use of structural adhesives rather than 'hotwork', for work on operational structures. Intelligent Engineering will undertake the design of the repair and obtain any necessary Classification approvals.
