SPS Panel Production
High quality, dimentionally accurate plates are individually manufactured for each project and incorporate penetrations, attachment preparations and coatings as required.
Step One: Prepare Panels · Face plates cut to required size and grit blasted to SA2.5 · Cut and prepare perimeter bars · Join perimeter bars by welding at corners
Step Two: Assemble Plates in Press · Assemble lower and upper face plates separated by perimeter bar frame in press
Step Three: Inject Elastomer Core · Inject with polyurethane between plates in mould (It takes 8 minutes to inject a 30m sq plate) · Press designed to eliminate distortion, which could occur during polyurethane exothermic reaction - resulting plates accurate to within /-1mm · Exothermic reaction creates a bond between the face plates and core of typically 10Mpa · Elastomer core cures in 20 minutes
Step Four: Remove Panels from Press and Finish · Plate removed from press and allowed to cool for three hours · If required perimeter bar and plate joins are welded – not carried out before injection process to prevent distortion · Strict Quality Assurance at all stages of process
