SPS Overlay offers a safe, fast reinstatement, repair and conversion process for FPSOs, FDPSOs, FSOs and FPUs that can save considerable time out of service.
Many repairs can be undertaken without hot-work, removing the need to de-gas tanks and enabling vessels to remain on-station with no interruption to production.

SPS Overlay can be used to reinstate:

• Side shell plating and bulkheads
• Strength between transverse bulkhead stringers and longitudinal bulkheads
• Deck and hull girder strength

Side shell protection:
SPS Overlay delivers enhanced impact resistance through its exceptional stiffness which shares the loads between side shell frame members, distributing the effects of any side shell impacts.

The Compact Double Hull created when using SPS Overlay exceeds the MARPOL* requirements and avoids the addition of internal cofferdams and sponsons.

Using SPS Overlay instead of a cofferdam reduces the cost and time of conversion, as well as eliminating void spaces, and the inspections and system requirements associated with them, and maximizes the cargo carrying capacity of a vessel.

* SPS Overlay side shell is designed and built according to stringent international rules and to satisfy IMO MEPC139 (53) “Guidelines for the application of MARPOL Annex 1 Requirements for FPSOs and FSUs”.
