In June 2009, IE and DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co Ltd) established a joint venture, SPS Marine Technologies Ltd, to bring SPS into mainstream shipbuilding.
The new company will provide SPS solutions and licence the technology to other shipyards around the world. A wide variety of applications have been developed including liftable car decks, hatchcovers, tanktops, bulkheads and accommodation blocks.
